Description
Problem: As carbon dioxide (CO2) flow through a cylinder valve, the gas expands and becomes significantly colder which in turn can cause moisture within the CO2 to freeze at the regulator seat. The formation of ice around the regulator seat can lead to or flow restriction or complete blockage of the system. Freezing of CO2 is more likely to occur with higher flows and in colder climates or the tropics where moisture in the air can form ice on the outside of equipment.
Solution: A method of minimising the above problem is to preheat the gas prior to entry to the regulator.
The Gas PreHeater has been designed to be connected between the outlet of a cylinder and the inlet of a regulator. The powerful 200 Watt heating element heats the gas as it flows through the body of the heater. The temperature of the heater is thermostatically controlled to around 75°C. Now including as standard, a new water & dust resistant case.
